BENV2422 (Parametric Design Using BIM) required me to create a facade system family that could be applied to various facades:

The Ambient Life

Martijn Hogenkamp was part of the ‘Freeband. The Ambient Life’ motion graphics team. Stylistically, it reminds me of Mirror’s Edge. About the project, Hogenkamp mentions:

The results of the Freeband Communication research program should be visualized in a compelling film. I approached the material using infographics to explain the vast quantities of data. To create a relationship with the continuing technology the film starts with a minimalist introduction in a narrow color spectrum and gradually transitioned to an abundant, multicolored world.

Alex Varanese has produced this awesome video. The soundtrack really brings it to life! About the work he says:

I recently found myself wondering what a video game might look like in the form of a stop motion animation. While a normal person’s response to such a question would of course be “who gives a shit?” I possess few of the qualities typically associated with normalcy and was irrevocably compelled to find out. Just an update on some Flash work I’m doing (I scrapped the morbid scene). Click on the handle to receive your fortune! At the moment I’ve only inserted one fortune; next step is to insert more.

AICP Sponsor Logos 2009

Trollback + Company did this great animation of sponsors (who knew looking at sponsor logos could be so interesting?). It reminds me of Dan Tobin Smith’s work.
